Article 1
The Executive Yuan established the Ministry of Justice (hereinafter “MOJ”) with the purpose of the management of national prosecutorial administration; prevention, rehabilitation, and correction of crimes; anti-corruption; administrative execution; legal consultation; the legal affairs of the Executive Yuan; and the education and training of judicial personnel.
Article 2
The mandate of the MOJ is as follows:
1. Integrated deliberation, planning, supervision, and evaluation of the policy of the legal affairs.
2. Providing consulting services to the Executive Yuan and its subordinate agencies on the deliberation and application of the laws and regulations.
3. The promotion, coordination, and arrangement of the affairs of human rights protection.
4. The research, drafting, inspection, and implementation of civil, criminal and administrative laws and regulations.
5. The policy planning; research; drafting of laws and regulations; and instruction and supervision of the prosecutorial administrative matters related to criminal investigation, public prosecution, and criminal execution.
6. The management and supervision of the attorney and coroner.
7. The policy planning; research; drafting of laws and regulations; and instruction and supervision of judicial protection related to probation; rehabilitation; protection of crime victims; crime prevention; legal education; legal aid and services; and counseling for litigation.
8. The policy planning, research; drafting of laws and regulations; legal counseling; and the implementation of mutual legal assistance at the international and cross-strait levels.
9. Research and development of forensic examination, authentication, personnel education, and forensic technologies.
10. The instruction and supervision of the MOJ’s subordinate agencies (institutes) regarding crime investigation, administrative execution, anti-corruption, correction, criminal investigation, public prosecution, and criminal execution.
11. The implementation and evaluation of the judicial personnel’s training and education.
12. Other matters related to legal administration.

Article 3
The MOJ has one specially appointed Minister, two Political Vice Ministers (grade 14), and one Administrative Vice Minister (grade 14 ).
Article 4
The MOJ has one Secretary-General (grade 12).
Article 5
The subsidiary agencies under the MOJ and their responsibilities include:
1. The Investigation Bureau: implementation of the protection of national security, institution’s counter-espionage, investigation and prevention against corruption, vote-buying, major economic crimes, drug crimes, and money laundering.
2. Administrative Enforcement Agency: planning and execution of compulsory enforcement of obligatory payments under public law.
3. Agency Against Corruption: planning of anti-corruption policy, and execution of matters related to anti-corruption, corruption prevention, and corruption eradication.
4. Agency of Corrections: planning of correctional policy; instruction and supervision of subordinate correctional facilities in implementing matters related to guard and control, edification and education, counseling; health care; review of paroles; labor operations; and skill training of prisoners.
5. Supreme Prosecutors Office: filing of extraordinary appeals, instruction of investigation, and management of other matters in accordance with the laws and regulations.
6. Taiwan High Prosecutors Office: management, instruction, and supervision over its subordinate prosecutors offices at various levels in their investigation, public prosecution, criminal execution, and other responsibilities stipulated in pertinent laws and regulations.

Article 6
The MOJ shall establish, in accordance with the Organization Act, an educational institute for judicial personnel that conducts research on crime and criminal policy.
Article 7
The grades, titles, and numbers of the positions within the MOJ shall be prescribed in another chart.
Article 8
The Executive Yuan shall prescribe by order the date of the entry into force of this Act.
