Article 1
This Regulations is enacted pursuant to Paragraph 2 of Article 46 of the Nuclear Materials and Radioactive Waste Management Act.
Article 2
Relevant persons or organizations which conduct research and development on theradioactive materials operational and final disposal technologies may be recommended as candidates for the Awards for Radioactive Materials Research and Development if one of the following achievements has been reached.
1. Implementing research and development projects, of which the achievements greatly improved or enhanced the present radioactive materials operational and final disposal technologies.
2. Implementing research and development projects, of which the achievements contribute greatly to promoting the management safety of the radioactive materials and final disposal.
3. Contributing greatly to planning or providing specific suggestions for the research and development of the radioactive materials management technologies and final disposal.

Article 3
The activity of Awards under the provisions of the preceding Article shall be carried out once erery two years. The competent authority accepts recommendations from June 1 to July 31 of the year in which activity is handled.
Article 4
Written recommendations for recommending candidates shall be enclosed and submitted to the competent authority for review.

Article 5
The evaluation process of the competent authority consists of the preliminary review and secondary review.
Article 6
The competnet authority shall establish a preliminary review team, which shall provide the list of qualified candidates after paper evaluation.
Article 7
The competent authority shall invite scholars and specialists to form the secondary review committee, which shall review the qualified candidates list and may hold meeting or make interviews if necessary.
Article 8
Persons or organizations ratified for the awards by the competent authority will be awarded and commended in public on the chosen date.
The awards and public commendation referred to in the previous paragraph may be held inconjunction with other award activities of the competent authority.

Article 9
This Regulations shall be put into practice from the date of promulgation.
